July 4 to 7, 2024 - International Sign Language Arts Festival
From Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 July 2024, the 11th edition of the Festival Clin d'Œil will be held at various venues in Reims.
Since 2003, the Clin d'Oeil Festival has been organised every 2 years by the CinéSourds association, which aims to promote Sign Language in all its cultural diversity and artistic forms.
We offer live performances, street arts, a film competition, music and song concerts, visual and plastic arts exhibitions and an exhibition of professional stands in the Village. At the same time, we are working on a number of other areas, such as youth, with educational and artistic workshops for 6 to 17 year-olds, and research and development into the cultural heritage of the deaf through seminars, conferences and professional meetings.
Guest country in 2024
Israel
The Festival having grown internationally, each year it reveals the culture of a particular country. After:
- Russia in 2007,
- Australia in 2009,
- the United States in 2011,
- Japan in 2013,
- Mexico in 2015,
- Brazil in 2017,
- Canada in 2019
- South Korea in 2022
The Clin d'Oeil Festival 2024 will bring the bright colors of Israel!
This culture, which is so different from ours, is very culturally rich. It will be present in all artistic fields of the festival: theater, cinema, and street performances.
November 17, 2023 - Israel
Description :
Hello everyone,
Every 2 years, Festival Clin d'Oeil invites a special country. The aim of this invitation is to showcase the culture, art, and creativity coming from the invited country through events such as theater, cinema, conferences, and children's workshops.
Currently, the political situation is very challenging and has a significant impact on us. As a team, this prompts us to reflect, particularly regarding the next country invited for Festival Clin d'Oeil 2024, which would be Israel. We have decided to set aside political influences to focus entirely on art, positivity, and the festival itself. Consequently, there will be no invited country for the Festival Clin d'Oeil 2024. Our priority is to maintain solidarity and unity within the deaf community and sign language users. We continue to emphasize the positivity of the festival, as has always been the case in previous years, while avoiding political influences. We hope you understand this decision.
Thank you and goodbye.
November 15, 2023 - Workshop children
Description :
Hello everyone,
Today, 15 November, was supposed to be the start of registration for the Festival Clin d'Œil youth workshop and accommodation.
The team is sorry to have to announce yet another postponement: registrations will finally open on 15 December 2023,
because of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which are causing a lot of confusion.
We have taken the decision to postpone one last time and still hope to be able to offer accommodation for the youth workshop.
If we are unable to provide accommodation, we will still open registration on 15 December, but without this option.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
We hope to see you soon.

Editorial
In 2022, there were more than 20,000 festival-goers in the heart of Reims, and we'd like to thank you for your loyalty and curiosity!
The Festival Clin d'Oeil is back for its 11th edition, from 4 to 7 July 2024. Get ready to see the big picture!
Clin d'Oeil is supported by all the local authorities, from the French Ministry of Culture to the City of Reims, which has always been a firm supporter of this world-class festival. It is the best showcase for the arts in sign language.
The festival is recognised as a major event in the deaf community. It now aims to become a benchmark in French and world cultural heritage.
With some forty countries represented at the next edition, this festival brings cultures together and advocates the mixing of languages and sign languages from all over the world. The festival is entirely accessible in LSF - Langue des Signes Française and IS - International Signs.
IN and OFF shows are now the hallmarks of the Festival Clin d'Oeil:
- In the halls of La Comédie de Reims and the Centre Saint-Exupéry: a full programme of live performances by leading theatre companies in sign language and screenings of short films and documentaries with a prestigious Awards Ceremony on Saturday evening.
- In the Village Clin d'Oeil, located in the largest car park in the Stade Delaune, with a surface area of 7,000 m2: artistic and professional exhibitors, street artists, musicians, circus performers, magicians, comedians, comedians under the Theatre's big top... a continuous programme every day from morning until the following morning, with its famous Deaf Party every evening (concerts by singers/musicians/dancers).
New, even more diverse activities will be on offer in 2024.
A musical laboratory
What better way than the Deaf Parties at the Festival Clin d'Oeil to experiment with equipment that transmits the vibrations of music to the deaf, with a 150 m2 dance floor and 40 Subpac waistcoats.
In 2024, a new and fast-growing category, SLAM, will be the focus of a SLAM Battle, with 24 participants from 6 countries competing over 2 days.
For those unfamiliar with this unusual festival, as its name suggests, the 4 days will fly by in the blink of an eye... So plan your stay in Reims in advance, and discover all the richness of its terroir, thanks to cultural visits accessible in LSF or IS, organised in partnership with the city of Reims, the Tourist Office and the Centre des Monuments Nationaux for visits to Reims Cathedral and the Palais du Tau, not forgetting the Champagne cellars of our partners: Champagne Taittinger in Reims and Champagne De Sousa in Avize.
Enjoy the festival!
